Grounds Construction Inc. was formed in September of 1985. Our objective was to give our customers the personal attention that seemed to be lacking in the construction industry.

Ed Grounds grew up in a construction family. Early on, he helped his grandfather build churches in East Texas. As he grew older, he then began working for his father, building custom homes followed by numerous apartment projects ranging from 250 to 350 units. Prior to entering the building trade full time with his dad, Ed worked in road construction for N.R. Williams and Sons for five years doing all types of dirt work, base, and asphalt.

Ed moved to the Austin area in 1979. He was employed at Ausland Construction from 1980 until 1985. While employed at Ausland Construction, Ed was superintendent on commercial projects in and around the Austin area. These projects included several medical clinics, funeral homes, restaurants, as well as the State Board of Plumbers Building.

Grounds Construction incorporated in 1995 and moved to its current location of 6623 Shirley Avenue in 1998. Grounds Construction Inc. has 8 employees, 3 of which are superintendents. Dan Broadhead, Jeffrey Lundin, and Chris Wright have combined experience in access of 75 years in all types of construction. Examples of experience include commercial construction, ground-up structures, tenant finish-outs in commercial spaces, residential construction and remodel, construction of log cabins, concrete tilt wall, and metal buildings, just to name a few.

The administrative staff of GCI is comprised of the General Manager, Mike Landry. Mike came to GCI in 2000 from Lake Travis ISD where he was employed for 18 years. Mike worked as the maintenance director for 11 of those 18 years, and responsibilities included managing a 1.6 million dollar budget, managing the school's custodial, maintenance and grounds departments, energy management, and construction projects. Mike maintains the office, accounts payable and receivable, and works on helping with scheduling of jobs and providing equipment and material to the jobsites.

Lastly, in 2006, GCI implemented an in-house crew that can supply your small job needs as well. Elias Zamorron and his crew can provide drywall repairs and complete painting of rooms and spaces as well as replacement of ceiling tiles and other routine maintenance items.

"It is the goal of Ed Grounds and his staff at Grounds Construction, Inc. to provide their customers with quality service before, during, and after the project is completed."

Sincerely,

Ed Grounds
